The whole group of factories was completely restructured after the marriage between Alfonso Sylos and Isabella Sersale, component of an illustrious Neapolitan family. From the families of Alfonso and Isabella take its name the present building among the civil baroque buildings of Bitonto.
In Bitonto the Baroque style was manifested only in the decorative elements that remained always sober and balanced, thanks to the influence of the local master. In the same palace, in fact, the façade is rich in ornaments, but the internal loggia is elegant but simple.
The Baroque spirit is manifested in the rich columns of the big portal whose stem is formed by bulky cylinders. The capitals are in a composite style, enriched with large masks at the centre of the volutes. The two columns on an attic base support the balcony through a “trabeazione” richly decorated.
The balcony presents a “transenna” in stone, whose his elegant small baluster are included between three pillars: the externals reports female allegorical statues symbols of fertility, while the central one reports two semi small baluster next to a pillar with floral decoration in bass-relief. Behind the baluster there is a window with a rich setting of crowning giving background to the elegant emblem of the family: an eagle with the inscription: SOLA SOLI SISTIT ( alone he resist to the sun).
Another interesting element is the vestibule, with a barrel-vault groined, in which centre is painted a large noble emblem.
The elegant loggia overlooks a small internal court and today it appears tampered by numerous posthumous structures.
