It was built between the 1441 and the 1455 as the seat of the homonymous Confraternity to assist the poor and treat children abandoned. At mid-‘500, the church was entrusted to a group of nuns, engaged in a marriage education of poor virgins.

In 1582, after the decision of the bishop authority, the nuns continued their activity in the monastery of Virgins.
