on the architrave the emblem of a noble family of Bitonto, the De Ferraris.
The indoors of the church incorporates two rooms; one belongs to the parish seat, the other one to the church of S. Maria.
Both, the plant and the frescoes, are in Byzantine style. In the apse zone you can see the fresco with the imagine of Blessing Christ, the Virgin Maria and S. Giovanni Battista, discovered thanks to the
Removal of the fresco that portrays S. Leucio, today kept in the Diocesan Museum.
On the north wall there are portrays of S. Margherita, S. Giacomo di Compostela, S. Antonio Abate and S. Vescovo. At the end, along the side entrance is painted a beautiful Virgin with the Jesus Baby.
Through a compartment located on the left side of the apse (pastòforo), it is possible to access in a garden near the church, once used as cemetery.
Today, thanks to cultural associations, the Church is a literary cenacle.
