According to the original project, the Church is without the transept and the niches of the main façade are empty.
There is a strong severity of the seventeenth-century architecture, underlined by the façade realized in bosses and by a vaste staircase.
The façade is divided into two orders. The first of them is characterized by niches and lesene. The main portal is surmounted by a tympanum divided into 2 parts by a little niche. This is a typical Baroque feature.
The second order has a vaste central window. On the top of it there is the Teatini coat of arms. The Church was built with local stones.
The Church has only one nave with lateral chapels and the wooden ceiling has been painted by the painter Carlo Rosa (1613-1678). Here are showed some episodes about the life of Saint Nicolaus of Myra, Saint Gaertano and Saint Andrea of Avellino.
The first chapel on right, property of Sylos-Sersale family, presents a Baroque altar with a rich decoration. It has been realized in 1696 with tender stones of Lecce. In the middle of this admirable altar there is a canvas that represents the Virgin's birth. The canvas has been attributed to Nicola Gliri or Andrea Miglionico.
On the internal façade and on the internal wall of the nave there are a lot of frescos about Saints just like Saint Patrizio, Saint Gregorio and so on. The nave is enlightened by the big central window on the internal façade and by eight windows.
