After the restoration of the Tower it takes life the Civic Contemporary Art Gallery. It is a new plug which composes the mosaic of an historical town which is able to offer to tourists, experts and lovers a great attraction as the Apulian National Gallery “DeVanna” recently inaugurated, hosted in Sylos Calò Palace just in front of the Tower.
The Civic Contemporary Art Gallery rises according to the intuition of Matteo Masiello. The artist is wondering from a long time to give to the city his own works in order to set up a Gallery which gave hospitality to other exponents of the Italian contemporary art.
Two are the sessions of the exhibition.
The first one, into the below ring of the tower, is entirely dedicated to Masiello’s works “inimitable Master of the contemporary painting”, as defined from Gian Luigi Rondi an art critic.
The second one, upstairs, will host paintings ( 17 at the beginning) by Antonio Bibbò, Mimmo Conenna, Giuseppe De Nittis, Roberto De Robertis, Giorgio Esposito, Carlo Fusca, Luigi Guerricchio, Ugo Martiradonna, Francesco Netti, Salvatore Salvemini, Francesco Sannicandro, Ivo Scaringi, Gennaro Somma, Francesco Speranza, Francesco e Raffaele Spizzico, Vito Stifano. It deals with important exponents of different contemporary and modern tends: from the figure to the abstract.
